Message from Mrs. Siever …

I am so honored to be the new principal at Byars Dowdy! Before I began working here, I was the principal at West Elementary in Wilson County. Prior to being an administrator at West, I was a teacher in Wilson and White County Schools as well as teaching briefly at Holy Rosary Academy. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades. I am married to Philip and we have two sons, Drew, who attends a local college and David, who is in his senior year at Mt. Juliet High School.

I believe that all students can learn and grow! I also believe that if parents, students, support staff, administration, and the community work together, we will all play a valuable part in achieving this goal! Working together, we will also naturally instill the love of learning in our children. There is no better gift to give a child than the intrinsic desire to learn new things!

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone!  Please know that my door is always open and I am here to support you and your child in any way possible.

Car Rider Dismissal Information

Parents,
Thank you so much for your patience as we make adjustments to the afternoon dismissal process.

Please note the following:
1) Car riders will not leave the building until 3:00 p.m.
2) Please stay in your car and wait for your child to be brought to you (this tremendously speeds up the process for everyone)
3) Kindergarten – 2nd grade will dismiss in the front
4) 3rd – 5th grade will dismiss in the back
5) Siblings may dismiss together from either location; please communicate that location to your children so they will be together in the correct spot.
6) Have your student’s name card visible for the dismissal staff
7) If there is a change to your child’s dismissal routine, please notify his/her teacher in writing or call the school.
