We Won!!!!

I have some exciting news to share!  This week, we received a check in the mail for $600! We won a grant from Target! Many months ago, I applied for a grant to fund a field trip to the Adventure Science Center in Nashville. I was so very excited to find out that we were awarded the grant! Thank you Target!

I am now in the process of planning an extremely exciting trip to the Adventure Science Center.  The trip is tentatively planned for the beginning of March.  I will send home more information and a permission slip as the date gets closer.

If you would like to check out the museum before we visit, you can go to www.adventuresci.com/
The grant will cover the cost of admission to the museum as well as admission to the planetarium!  We might even have a little money left over for a trip to the gift shop! I am over the moon with excitement for our class!

Stay tuned for more information!

What’s New?

We only have a few short weeks left before our Winter Break begins! This week our class will be working hard on academics as well as having some fun!

Next Thursday, December 8th, we will be traveling across the field to Winfree Bryant for our annual Christmas Program. We are working hard to prepare an exciting performance. This year we will be incorporating music and technology for an innovative presentation. Our class is very excited to put it all together. We will be singing, dancing, filming, uploading, editing…. We have a lot of work to do!  Please check your child’s backpack on December 9th. I will send home a DVD for everyone, so they can remember all the hard work they put into their performance!

In less exciting news, we need a few classroom supplies. I try my best to keep us stocked up, but we are running low on some necessary items. We need Kleenex, hand sanitizer, and notebook paper. It is that time of year and we are using A LOT of tissues.  Our class is putting in a lot of hard work and I can’t keep enough paper! That is a very good thing! If you could send in a few items I would really appreciate it.

Don’t forget that report cards will go home on December 14th. Also, December 16th is an abbreviated day; students will be dismissed early. We will return from break on Tuesday, January 3rd.

I am very proud of how hard everyone is working this year! We are learning and growing everyday and it is amazing to see.

Thanks for reading!
